Financial Inclusion

Empathy Edge Solutions advances financial inclusion by designing and implementing human-centered solutions that expand access to affordable, relevant, and trusted financial services for underserved populations. Recognizing that financial exclusion is often driven by behavioral, social, and structural barriers, we apply insights from behavioral science and user-centered design to develop products, services, and delivery models that align with the real needs and lived experiences of communities. Our approach supports increased uptake, sustained usage, and improved financial resilience—particularly among women, youth, and low-income populations—while strengthening the effectiveness and inclusivity of financial systems.

  • Financial Inclusion in India
    We investigated the barriers to engagement with the formal banking sector among low-income populations in India. By identifying key drivers of poor engagement, we recommended new, accessible financial products tailored to meet their unique needs and encourage greater financial participation.
  • Economic Empowerment for AGYW in Tanzania
    We designed a cash transfer framework aimed at improving the long-term economic and health outcomes for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Tanzania. This framework was structured to promote sustained positive impacts, addressing both immediate needs and future opportunities for these young women.
  • Economic Empowerment in Kenya
    We facilitated linkage of AYPs to financial institutions and formation of Motorcycle (Boda Boda) riders SACCOs for them to access financial support and cultivate culture of saving.
